Fall

I love this time of year. Is there anything better than a cool gentle breeze, watching OSU football, hanging with friends, and playing pick up tackle football? (which I miss so badly). Seriously it has been a couple of years since I have played because everyone I know wants to play crappy flag. Is there anyone around Columbus that plays regularly for fun and plays tackle? It's not a real game until I hit someone and get hit...HARD. I'm definately not athlete but for the love of man those were some of my favorite times when I lived in Tulsa and even in Ohio.

Anyways, new music everyone should check out...

If you like screamo, check out Agraceful. Also new Underoath drops Sept 2nd, and the former guitarist from Korn, Head, his new album Save Me From Myself drops Sept 9th.

Late.

Stronger Than Hell Tour

Last night was absoluetly amazing! I went to Bogarts in Cincy (which was my first time checking out the venue...pretty nice concert hall). Anyways Advent was ok show performance wise. The lead vocalist kinda ran in place while having his back face the crowd...that was their thing. The Famine's stage presence was a little better but they pretty much just stood there and played with a little more domination...that was their thing. Then came Oh, Sleeper. I have seen these guys once before their album When I Am God came out, at a small show, and they were really good, but this time they had the crowd, they had the banners, they had the lights and even better stage presence. At one point in time a guy near me on the side grabbed a trashcan and threw it high in the air into the circle pit. Amazingly it landed directly in the middle of the circle and noone got hurt, but it almost got someone good on the way back. Anyways, Oh Sleeper...simply fantastic performance.

I promised myself to reserve my energy for Living Sacrifice who is the very reason I got into hardcore starting in 2001. It was hard to restrain myself during Oh Sleeper, but I succeeded. So many people were wearing old Living Sacrifice shirts and I didn't know then if I regreted wearing my Solid State Records shirt. (*For those that aren't used to going to concerts, it is NOT COOL to wear the shirt of the band that you are seeing. But since LS has been gone for 5 years, I debated whether or not to wear my shirt to say I have been listening to LS for awhile now and I am whole heartedly glad they are back. Let me know what you think about this.) Anyways, I was sooo excited along with over half the crowd who couldn't wait to see them again or for the first time. They brought it just like they always do. Moshing, hardcore dancing, I left it all on the floor. 9.85 out of 10. The only thing I miss (which wasn't too noticable) was their percussionist Matt Putman. I left all I had in that circle. Luckily, the love of my life Olivia, was waiting for me with a cold bottle of water and I dropped to my knees shaking and quickly consumed it begging for another. She loving replied and brought me a second ice cold bottle. I downed 7/8ths of it, leaving the last little bit to dump on my head since i honestly don't sweat like a normal person.

It may seem crazy, but i knew I was giving my all to LS that night and I decided in advance that Demon Hunter was going to be my "cool down" band. They were amazing as always. Of course I loved when they sang Sixteen and Bruce from LS came out to sing his part. All of their songs were great, the stage performance and even the light show was pretty sweet, so it was really cool to actually watch them and sing along, rather than getting distracted doing my thing in the pit.

End result...Amazing Tour!!! Thank you Living Sacrifice for making me remember why I fell in love with hardcore in the first place.
